This program is suitable for children aged 7 – 12 years old with ASD, and also for children with any attention difficulties or social interaction difficulties.
To some children, socialising doesn’t always come naturally – they may not want to or know how to. However, many kids love playing with LEGO, making it is a great activity over which to ‘break the ice’ and facilitate social interaction. LEGO Based Therapy is a collaborative, play-based social skills intervention that builds on this enjoyable common interest.
LEGO Based Therapy aims to promote the development of appropriate social, communication and play skills. It also utilises children’s strengths to help develop areas of difficulty. Not only is LEGO Based Therapy ideal for developing social skills, it also develops the understanding of language and encourages expressive language.
This course will focus on:
Not only will the kids have fun, but they will also learn some great functional skills needed for interacting and communicating with peers.
Maximum group size: 3
