Rebecca graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.A degree in both Psychology and Communication Disorders. She went on to obtain her M.A degree in Speech and Language Pathology and practiced as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the United States for six years prior to moving to Hong Kong. Rebecca has experience working in both the public school setting and through a Birth to Three Agency in which she has assessed and treated children ranging in age from one year to 18 years of age. She has also provided private speech and language services in the home.
Rebecca has treated children in the hospital setting with delayed speech and language skills, Traumatic brain injuries, feeding/swallowing difficulties, Apraxia of speech and oral motor difficulties. She has experience treating children with Autism, Down's Syndrome and Cleft Palate as well.
Rebecca also has experience working with adults in the hospital, rehabilitation and clinical settings. She has treated adults with fluency, voice, and language difficulties and has worked with adults who have lost speech and language skills as a result of Traumatic Brain Injuries or strokes. Rebecca has experience treating adults with Apraxia of Speech, Dysarthria, and Aphasia as well. She also offers services for adults who wish to participate in accent modification.
