Sophia MallirisSophia graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Psychology and obtained her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College, with a concentration in Mental Health. She is a licensed Mental Health Counselor in the United States.

Sophia has worked with a wide variety of clients including children, adolescents and adults and has provided individual, family and couples treatment. Her main area of expertise is in child and adolescent behavioral problems with a focus on treating depression, anxiety and adjustment disorders and in behavioral modification and management. Her psychotherapeutic approach is drawn from several different schools, with an emphasis on Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Sophia has prior experience working in a variety of settings including an adult psychiatric in-patient unit, a child and adolescent partial hospital program, which included a specialized eating disorder unit, both child and adult residential settings and a private group practice. Sophia's extensive experience has included treatment of clients of all age groups in matters ranging from mild adjustment disorders to severe depression and anxiety. Before returning to live in Hong Kong where she received her primary education, Sophia practiced in both the United States and Greece.
