DATES: July 18-22, 2022

TIMES: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

VENUE: The Grove, The Harbour School

Description

This group is suitable for kids aged 6-8 years old.

Emotion regulation is crucial for healthy emotional and social development. It helps build appropriate interpersonal skills, independence, and self-control.

Young children often have difficulty understanding their various daily emotions. Big emotions like anger, frustration, and even joy can be overwhelming. They can struggle to verbalize their feelings to adults. They may also face challenges in coping with some of the tensions that come with big feelings.

This course aims to help young children understand and regulate their own emotions. Through collaborating with adults and fellow students, activities in the program focus on teaching them socially appropriate ways to handle their own emotions in a fun way. The skills learned can help identify certain unique challenges each child may experience and further help them throughout school years.
