Florence is a psychological counsellor committed to helping individuals, couples and families. This includes mood and anxiety issues, family communications, stagnant relationships, conflict resolution, and teenage identity difficulties. She helps couples with bonding and intimacy, as well as pre-marital counselling. She gives regular workshops on “Positive Parenting” and “Dealing with Emotions” in school and NGOs. She speaks English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
Florence believes everyone is unique, possesses tremendous potential and desires peace and happiness. However with our current, past life events or childhood upbringing and perhaps an unclear future, we often become emotional, helpless, over-thinkers, lost and angry. We do not possess sufficient motivation to tackle our psyche or deal with daily stress and pressure or to perform at our optimal level.
Florence is passionate in her work with individuals, couples and families. It is her delight to walk alongside to help her clients, helping them to clarify and gain self-awareness of their issues.
Florence’s approach is to discover client’s dominant emotions and recognize each client’s life journey, identifying key events and traumas. Florence developed a self-care acronym “TMACK”, involving mindfulness and self-acceptance / compassion practices to help clients reduce stress and anxiety and regain calmness. Florence integrates Cognitive Behavior Therapy with this practice to help clients develop a new and more adaptive thinking style. Furthermore, clients find Florence’s use of assertiveness and communication skills training valuable in their career, personal development and relationship issues.
