Dr. Ipsita Mitra is a Literacy and ELL Teacher in Blurton FDC. She obtained her Doctorate in Sociology, specialising in Spirituality and Social Welfare. She has over four years experience in teaching undergraduate students. She has also worked as a teacher trainer conducting workshops and coaching for school teachers in pedagogy.
Dr. Ipsita Mitra completed her Doctorate in Sociology and has over six years experience in education, training and research. She has been deeply committed to empowering all stakeholders in the education sector. Before moving to Hong Kong she worked as a Teacher Trainer and has conducted workshops and over 500 individual coaching sessions for school teachers in comprehensive teaching and learning strategies for the classroom.
She also worked as an Assistant Professor of Sociology for over three years focusing on application of sociological theory in everyday life. Her areas of interest include faith, spirituality, urban space and gender and has published articles in several international journals.
Prior to joining FDC, she worked as a Literacy Instructor with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes (LBLP), Hong Kong, supporting young clients in reading and comprehension based on strategies of concept imagery and symbol imagery. She has also worked with children on the learning spectrum as part of this assignment.
