Briony has been in Education for over 20 years, including seven years as a specialist outreach teacher for children with Language and Literacy challenges. She very much enjoys working with children from a diverse range of backgrounds. Briony is a mother of two teenage children.

Approach & Bio

Briony has over 20 years experience as a classroom and outreach teacher in Scotland and has taught across all stages of nursery and primary school.  She has extensive experience working with children with language and literacy difficulties.  Briony is a highly experienced teacher who works with a wide range of children, including those with challenges such as Dyslexia, Specific Language Disorder, ASD, ADHD, Selective Mutism, ELL, fine and gross motor challenges.  Briony holds firm to the belief that children with learning differences require the right environment and approach to learn rather than just receiving behavioural modification training.

Briony works closely with school staff, parents and other agencies to assess, plan and implement needs specific intervention plans/I.E.P’s  for both individuals and groups of children.  She typically provides direct intervention services to students across a wide range of schools and offers advice and training to parents and teachers alike.

She was instrumental in developing informal assessment material for receptive and expressive language difficulties and a range of resources to help develop early language and literacy skills.

Briony has a keen interest in Additional Support Needs and has completed a Postgraduate qualification that focussed on Inclusion, Dyslexia and ASD. She recently started working with children on emotional literacy/Growth Mindset.

Briony focuses on the positive and what is needed for each child to thrive.
